PLEASE READ TO THE END, WE NEED YOUR HELP

Dear Parents, I was recently contacted by Aviva with an opportunity to ‘get funding for an important cause in your community’. Obviously I thought of our Scout Group as we are always looking for new ways to raise funds.

Turns out that amongst other things, the group is in need of a new mess tent for all the group camps, but these come in at around £1,000. Fortunately, one of the funding levels that could be applied for at Aviva is£1,000, so I spent some time putting together a project and submitting it before the deadline of October 10th.

This project has now been accepted to go on to the next level, and this is where YOU come in.

There are four funding levels available, and the other three (higher) amounts are judged, this one is not…

IT IS VOTE DEPENDANT!!!!!!!

The successful projects are those who are either the first to reach 1,000 votes or those with the highest votes when voting closes

All we need is enough people to vote AS SOON AS POSSIBLE when voting opens and we could be £1,000 better off. The way it is explained on the Aviva site is:

In the £1,000 Award level

The first 200 entries to reach 1,000 votes at this Award level will each be made a successful project in this Award level. This could happen at any point in the voting period.
Subsequently at the end of the voting period, the next 180 entries that have received the highest number of votes will be made General successful projects, making 380 successful projects in total in this Award level.

380 chances to get £1,000 from just a few minutes effort.

All ‘approved entries’ will be published on the Fund website on 24 October 2017, which will then be open to voting by registered users.

This is how you register to vote:
• Go to the Fund Website at this address
https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk
• Select ‘Register Now’
• On the next page select ‘Register Now’ again
• Fill in the details on the next page and that’s it!!

You will receive an email from Aviva with a link in to click on and activate your account.

You can register NOW!

You can vote at any time during the voting phase of the competition, which runs from 9am on 24 October to midday on 21 November 2017.

Presumably, once voting opens, and you log in to https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk , you will see Adlington Scout Group listed on there as an ‘approved entry’..

Each registered user will have 10 votes to use during the Voting Period and can vote for the same entry more than once and/or for multiple projects.

10 votes each! So we only need 100 people to vote and we will have made 1,000 votes. We just need to do it AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE ON TUESDAY 24th OCTOBER!!!!

So please, get husbands, wives, grandparents, aunties and uncles to register and vote and let’s get £1,000 for Adlington Scout Group!
