Home > Beavers

General Information:

Beavers are the youngest section of the scouting movement, aged from 6-8, and their activities are based on playing games, creative and outdoor activities, stories and visits, sleepovers and camps. We meet weekly during term-time at the Adlington Scout Hut to participate in as many fun activities as we can possibly pack into our meeting with the aim of making friends, trying new things and keeping the Beaver Promise.

Beaver Promise

Our Programme:

Beavers follow a balanced activity programme following six zones – Outdoor and Adventure; Global; Community; Fitness; Creative; Beliefs & Attitudes. Along the way, their activities and achievements are counted towards earning badges and awards, with the purpose of motivating our smallest scouts to try new things and form new interests.

Places We Go:

The Beaver Colony travels to a few places out & about on activities; each time we go somewhere new we will include it on the website. Currently, we have visited:

Bibby’s Farm

Other Things We Do:

We also attend various parades, such as Remembrance Sunday and St. Georges’ Day; Walks and Hikes, and other fundraising activities on weekends.

We are always on the lookout for adult volunteers to assist with trips and camps in order that as many Beavers as possible can participate. If you wish to volunteer, please contact:

To attend Scouts there is a monthly charge, collected via Standing Order. Camps and visits will incur a small extra charge; however, scouting is inclusive to everyone, and cost should not be a barrier to attendance. Speak with one of the Leaders for more information.

The Scout Association is a registered charity, and as such, relies on donations to continue providing their organization to children. Scouts will participate in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year.
